During last semester last year 2011 a friend, Cara, who was doing her work experience with the amazing company Georgeous Events asked me to assist her and the company in designing the tables for Melbournes Worlds Longest Lunch. We sources all inspiration and Cara came up with the sketches to envisage the concept. I put together the whole document, here is just a few screen shots that i believe were shown to the client..

Some pretty old work of a table styling project I was given at RMIT.
You had to choose a theme, run the theme through the table/event, source appropriate table ware (inc plates, glasses, cups, cutlery etc) and create a table centrepiece. I made a 3D pink flamingo which sadly isnt shown in this series of images.. i think you can view it somewhere on my blog as I still have it in my room!

Invite designs I made for a friend for her upcoming 21st.

Rough Sketches for Store Design

Vacant Site Store Design
Location: Ground Floor Melbourne CentralJust a small selection of my Incu Store Design
Brief:
This was our last major assignment for our Store Design and commercial lighting class. We had to design a store, any store, to fit the vacant site at the time situated in Melbourne Central. This could be a made up store or a pre existing store but could not match the fit out and design of any current ones if you were to choose a pre existing one. I chose to do mine for Incu, a pre-existing store found in Sydney and Melbourne. In melbourne there are two Incu stores - one for women, one for men so i decided to use this vacant site to combine the sexes and design a store for both genders.
For the assignment, we researched all elements from current stock, graphics, Melbourne Central guidelines, comparative retailers, lighting, spacial and humar factors, materials and finishesand most importantly the vacant site itself and then come up with an innovative design that remained true to the brand or chosen store. From that, there was a design solution which of course took some time. Rough sketches were drawn and then I took it to the computer and used Googles SketchUp to create a realistic version of the store. Within the design solution, everything from sound and smell to new graphics and materials were thought about as well as spacial factors and retail guidelines.
Many techinical drawings were also drawn up to ensure the design was realistic and made certain that the space was used correctly and that if it were to be a design in the real work force that it would be adaptable to the vacant site.

Mannequin Styling Brief - final one for RMIT VM.. so sad.
Myself and Zoe Demkiw created this display from the backdrop to the clothing choices and positioning & photographing. After much deliberation, we sought out inspiration from this mosaic iphone cover I have.. (as you can see in ‘behind the scenes’ section), we did not match it but thought the use of the colour blocking and wave effect down the backboard could work quite well. Then the use of the Mondrian colours in the dress matched perfectly!

ROOM re-arrangement again of course. Got these sweet paper vases from online store ‘Upon a Fold’, painted all my frames to match one another, printed a heaps of black and white pics, painted the vintage tip-shop drawers and valllahhhhhhh…
Latest Hand Made Creation.. made from scratch may i add… it reminds me of a galaxy which was the aim, I shall now make heaps more! Simple SIMPLE process!

Here is our type & colour based front window advertising VM at RMIT. Our class of about 15 created this, from measuring and creating the range of triangles to deciding fonts to foam cut the individual letters and creating a colour palette. I was lucky enough to be one of the group leaders for this installation and watch the process through from start to finish. Everything you see in this window is hand made (minus the materials of course!)
